Show Second M. I. A. Institute Held The second and concluding! institute insti-tute of the M. I. A. recreation workers work-ers of the Lehi, Alpine, Timpanogos and Sharon stakes, was held in the Alpine stake tabernacle Monday night. In this meeting, as last week, were included members of the superintendencies and presidencies presiden-cies of all Mutual Improvement associations as-sociations of the four stakes. Last Monday night there were nresent also, the members of the stake presidencies, pres-idencies, the ward bishoprics and all members of correlation committees commit-tees of the stake. In all, close to five hundred persons attended the institute. The meeting opened' with a selection selec-tion by the Seventies chorus, di-rected di-rected by K. J. Bird, after which President A. Carlos Schow of the Lehi stake offered the invocation. W. O. Robinson of the General ' Katie C. Jensen representing the Board gave a brief talk, following which Mr. Robinson led in the singing sing-ing of "The Road Is Open Again." "Pay Checks" was the topic of two short talks, the first made by President Pres-ident C. E. Young of Alpine stake, and the other by Miss Utella Smith of the Lehi stake. The "Pay Check" told of were the remunerations that M. I. A. workers receive for then-services, then-services, not in terms of money but in the appreciatien of those whom they serve and the benefit others gain by their instruction and en- couragement. Following this general assembly, department work was held. John D. Giles of the General Board conducted con-ducted the correlation department; w. O. Robinson the dancing, Katie . C. Jensen the speech and story, Elsie El-sie Talmage Brandley the drama, ! and Bertha Tineev. the Ree-TTivp rlp- partment. Some very helpful instructions was given the four stake workers ' j by the visitors from the General j Board and a number have remarked these two institutes rank among the best ever in these stakes. j Following the department sessions ' the group reaassembled.
