The visitor was showing off her rings and her necklaces neck-laces and her other ornaments. She had a great many and she was proud of them. When she had shown oft all she had, she asked to see Cornelia's Jewels. Jew-els. Cornelia called to her two boys, who were playing outside. They came In and their mother put her arms around them. Then, with em phasis on "these" and "my," Cor-v Cor-v uelia said: "These are my jewels." On Sunday, May 9, 1007, Miss Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia told a friend that she had set the day aside to honor the memory of her mother, who had died the year before.
