Show Moab Lions Avard Night Held Here on Monday A very nice potluck dinner started off the Moab Lions Club Awards Night Monday night at the Lions Riverside Park. President Duane Bolton officiated and presented the first award to W. D. McArthur for selling more white canes than all other members put together. Mr. McArthur received re-ceived a plaque for this which dealt with the sale last March of white canes for aid to the blind. Mr. McArthur also received a 100 percent attendance attend-ance pin for the year. Rodney Dalton and Rodney Phillips then received 10 year awards and Bud Lincoln received a membership award for sponsoring new members in recent months. Then Slim Mabery received the "Key Member" pin for bringing in six members last year. Mr. Mabery also received receiv-ed a 100 percent President Pin for his service Inst year as Lion's President. A 100 percent Secretary Pin was also awarded to Larry Reed from the District Governor Gover-nor and a second pin was awarded to Mr. Reed from Mr. Mabery in appreciation for his work. Dick Robinson received a chairman pin and a treasure appreciation pin went to Greg Christensen. Two new members, Bob Patterson and Ed Burton were given dedicated service plaques pla-ques for the work they have put in on various building assignments for the community. commun-ity. Lions of the Year Lion of the year awards went to Mr. Bud Lincoln and Mr. Ray Branscom for their hard work throughout the year. The Moab Lions also report that Lions would be getting their material right a way for the Calendar Sale and as soon as the order blanks are finished they should be turned into Ron Auger with money being turned in to Greg Chri.stcnson at First Security Bank. The closing date is September 7. |
