Show Capitol Reef Travel is Up 15 PerCent Superintendent W. Franklin Wallace of Capitol Reef National Park announced today to-day that 76,461 persons visited the park during the month of July. This is a 15 percent increase over that of July last year when 66,199 visitors were recorded. The total visitation for the period January 1 to July 30 was -292,241 compared to 171,521 for the same period last year. A 70 percent increase. - The area campgrounds continue con-tinue to be filled to capacity nearly every day of the week. Camping in areas of the park not designated as campgrounds camp-grounds is prohibited. It is interesting to note that visitation through the month of July exceeds that for the total yearly visitation in 1975. |
