Show Member Added to Continental Board Mrs. James Hasty (Shirley) of Dove Creek, Colorado joined Continental Telephone of the West Utah's Advisory Board as its 7th member at a meeting held at the Salt Lake Hilton Hotel. Mrs. Hasty joins board members; James E. Brown - Tremonton, Dee Leak - Thatcher, Kent Dalton -Fillmore, Bud Huff - Delta, Dick Allen - Moab, and Mrs. Sam Halls (Gwen) of Monticel-lo, Monticel-lo, Utah. i The Utah Advisory Board has been established to obtain the comments and recommen dations of key people in selected communities served by Continental Telephone Company. It has been instituted institu-ted to provide a sounding board for the plans and service of Continental Telephone of Utah and afford management an opportunity to better understand the problems and challenges facing the communities com-munities and customers served ser-ved by the company. Subjects covered at the Advisory Board, Salt Lake meeting included . the Company's Com-pany's recently approved rate" case, the results of the Company's operation and construction con-struction program, and de- tailed discussion of the Con- : sumers Communication Reform Re-form Act of 1976 now pending in Congress which is sponsored spons-ored or co-sponsored by more than 140 Representatives and 14 Senators. Hearings on this Act are expected to be held the later part of September. Also included was a briefing program with the North America Defense Command. The briefing was held by conference telephone and emphasized em-phasized the necessity of high speed communications furn- ished by the telephone industry indus-try in maintaining the defense of our Country. Company officials attending the meeting were: Grant T. Callister - Utah Service Manager, Sherrie Kinney Kin-ney - Administrative Assistant, Assis-tant, Keith Rawlinson - State Outside Plant Engineer, Sheldon Shel-don Cannon - Delta District Service Manager, Emmett Mays - Moab District Service Manager, as well as Robert Palmiter from the Division Traffic Department in Phoenix. |
