Show j FOUNTAIN GREEN 1 ! P.y Special Correspondence Born to Mr. and Mrs. Guy Walker, January 12, a girl. The mother was formerly Mrs. Mary Jensen. Mi-, and Mrs. J. D. Coombs received re-ceived word of the arrival of a grandson at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Coombs of Roosevelt, Utah. Miss Mildred Allred returned home from Salt Lake for the Christmas holidays and is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Allred. The Gloom Busters club met last Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Ora Mayer where a delightful afternoon was spent. New officers were selected for the coming year. Mrs. Ruby Ivory was chosen as president with Dorothy Oldroyd as secretary to succeed Mrs. Hilda Christiansen and Theora Anderson. Ander-son. A delicious hot dinner was served and all members were present pres-ent excepting one. A Home Economics meeting was held at the city community hall January 8th where new officers were selected for the year 1932. Mrs. Mattie Yorgason is the new president with Sina Jacobson as secretary to succeed Mrs. Rowena Allred. A program was rendered and refreshments were served and committees chosen to arrange for a program, banquet and dance on January 29. Mr. Merrill Screnson, who has been very ill for the past ten days, was taken to the L. D. S. Hospital Friday night and was operated on Saturday morning for peritonitis. He is still in a very critical condition condi-tion but it is hoped that his recovery re-covery will be speedy. Mrs. Sadie Sorenson has been very ill for the past three weeks with lumbago but is slightly improved im-proved now. Frank Samuels was taken ill at the sheepherd and was brought home two weeks ago. He is suffering suffer-ing from heart trouble and has been seriously ill but is some better bet-ter now. It is. hoped that they will both soon be well. Friends of Mrs. Nadine Haver-stik Haver-stik Seeley will be very shocked to learn of her death on January 1st at Topanah, Nevada She is survived sur-vived by her husband and three weeks old baby girl. She was a former school teacher in our community com-munity thre; years ago, and later married Joseph Seeley. Her body was taken back to Missouri where her parents reside. Mr. Lyman Seeley, Ora Mayer and Hilda Christiansen attended the funeral last Friday of Jcsepii Seely at Mt. Pleasant. He was an uncle of Mr. Seeley of our city. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Arvin and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Jensen of Bear River City visited this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Holman. A very elaborate New Year's party was enjoyed by the Elite club members and their husband at ihe home of Mr and Mrs. John J. Oldroyd. A delicious turkey dinner was served. Mrs. W. E. Watson is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Seeley. Mrs. Leslie Syms of McGill, Nevada is visifmg for a short time in our city. Miss Velma Roberts is visiting with friends at Chester, Utah. |
