Show Pioneer Utah J Resident Dies 1 at St. Anthony Alma Staker, 95. died at St. An-"j An-"j thony, Idaho Thursday night of pneumonia. He had lived here J since 1912, but previous to that ,' had been a pioneer of towns in i Utah. Born in Springfield, 111 , on June 15, 1837, he came to Utah by ' ox team in 1852, and in 1857 went ! with the first settlers from Salt Lake City to Mt. Pleasant in San-I San-I pete county, where for many years he was prominent in build-'! build-'! lng up the country. He moved to Castle valley, Em-ery Em-ery county, Utah, as one of the first pioneers in that section. He was an enlisted soldier in both the Black Hawk and the Walkei Indian wars. He is survived by four children, Mrs Elizabeth J. Day, Lawrence, SUtah; "Mrs. Elnora Fillmore, St. Anthony; Mrs. Martha Miller, Farnum, Idaho, and J. Ether i Staker, St. Anthony. In addition I he leaves twenty five grandchildren, grandchil-dren, twenty great-grandchildren " and nine great-great-grandchildren ' Funeral services will be held in I Yellowstone stake L. D. S. tabernacle taber-nacle here Saturday, after which a his body will be taken to his old t home, Lawrence, Emery county, Utah, for interment. A ' |
