THE CREED OF A FOOL I 1 AM a fool I 1 believe that fire Is it a regrettable accident which occurs in the other mans house I 1 believe that my own house Is tree free from danger although I 1 take no precaution of any kind IT if I 1 stopped to think I 1 would realize that my house is even as other houses are but it is unnecessary for or me to think about such matters the other man should think deeply I 1 believe that eros are caused by carelessness the carelessness ot of the other man I 1 believe that I 1 am a privileged character I 1 may throw matches about cast away halt half lighted cigarette stubs without looking to see where they fall I 1 believe that I 1 can do such things with impunity so far I 1 have not been arrested for arson I 1 believe that the other man is negligent he Is culpable and deserves to suffer losses caused by his own stupidity A special providence looks alter after my home and ana place of business I 1 believe all this without any guaranty of immunity from the attack of fire I 1 lave have no surety that fate has not bomin ted me tor for membership in the club of ther other men but as I 1 have said I 1 am a ool fool
