Show UNIVERSITY STUDENTS 161ZE BASKETBALL Coach Maddock Announces the-Sciieduic the-Sciieduic for Season; Football Foot-ball Men Interested. Coach Maddock and the four managers man-agers of tho class basket-ball teams of the University have arranged a schedule for the present season. Two games will bo played each week, thc j first contest ol the scries occurring : next Friday afternoon. The complete schedule follows: February 7 Juniors versus seniors. I February 11 Seniors versus fresh- j men. February 14 Sophomores versus seniors. February 18 Seniors versus freshmen. fresh-men. February 21 Sophomores versus .juniors. February 25 Juniors versus freshmen. fresh-men. February 23 Juniors versus seniors. , March ? Sophomores versus fresh mou. March b' Sophomores versus seniors. March 10 Seniors versus freshmen. March 17 Juniors versus freshmen. This is thc first complete scries of contests that has been arranged at the school. Efforts have been made in other 3'cars to start something in this line, but not until the present timo has any such movement takcu a definite defi-nite form. The next step will bo the formation of a gasket-bull team to represent tho school in the Stnj,e Basket-ball league. Thero is an abundance of material on bund, so that the scries which has been arranged will prove cxtrcmoly interesting, as well as being a valuable means for Coach Maddock to get a hue on material for next year. About one-third one-third of the men who aro trying, for positions- on the dilToreut class teams arc football men, but they seem to have no advantage over othor aspirants. The senior team has tho advantage of having been together for thrco years, and thc men aro larger "than those of the other teams. Hunter, manager of tho senior team, and Peterson Peter-son have both played together at the Agricultural college. vTiil Wilson. Simpson and Hcrbst have been together during tho past three ycars The .-junior team begins tho season with a handicap, handi-cap, already having been defeated by a big scoro by the seniors. The sophomores and freshmen, teams arc .made up largely of High school students. |
