Show TEL SOCIETY NOR ff HIS I 1 SPOT names of men present at indian treaty recorded on monument A alx foot monument marking the spot where the peace treaty was signed in 1873 between the indians and white settlers at the close of the black hawk war was unveiled saturday at 4 p in at doctors creek at the south end of fish lake by john D giles secretary of the utah trails association the marker was dedicated by patriarch H J hansen the monument the first of its kind to be placed in this section was obtained by the sevier stake al 1 I A in cooperation with the utah trails memorial association it consists of a bronze plaque mounted on a large cement mon which has been built under the direction of patriarch hansen in in cooperation with clarence smith and antone winkel of the boy scout department the names of those who were present at the peace treaty are on the plaque E P bean who was a member of the party which made the treaty retold re told the story R T thurber a son of A K thurber who was another member of th the e party and oscar A kirkham gave talks A demonstration of indian signs and songs was given by boy scouts of sevier stake I 1 A salute and taps given by members of the local battery concluded the program |
