| Show funel 0 cily M H 6 H L roy lloyd spanish war veteran honored by legion post military funeral services were held in the monroe south ward chapel at 2 p in m saturday for roy lloyd monroe city marshal who died suddenly september 6 the services were given under direction of the american legion with lieutenant ferd erickson officiating ficia ting the ward choir sang appropriate prop and consoling numbers under the direction of thos ransom post chaplain arthur lundgreen offered the opening and closing prayers joseph A smith heber swindle and mayor lucian winget were speakers oluf R read resolutions from the mayor and city council in behalf of the people of monife men of the county who have been associated with the deceased highly endorsed the good qualities and integrity of marshal lloyd the american flag draped the casket when the remains of a devoted husband and father a man who responded to the nation state and city calls was taken to his last resting place pallbearers Pall bearers were harvey bates charles C nielsen C P F holgate frank carson bert Christians cn and glen winget the american legion represented dented by all members of the post accompanied the body from the home to the chapel and to the cerne cemetery tery where the usual military salute was fired over the grave in behalf of the family thanks was expressed by lieutenant erickson roy lloyd was born bom in kentucky january after coming to utah he married emma lloyd he was a veteran of the spanish american war and has been an able civic worker in monroe as city marshal for the past eleven years and nine months in his years of labor with the people he was known to be thoroughly awake to conditions in tile the city and county while serving in the capacity of marshal he is survived by his widow two daughters and two sons and his father who lives in kentucky three brothers and two sisters |
