| Show RICH FIELDS natatorium the richfield city council and the central civic committee are arc to be congratulated upon the eminently successful manner in which the city natatorium was kept open and operated this summer details of which are given in a news article on another page of this issue issue i of the reaper through the cooperation of these two bodies it was possible not only to keep the pool open when it otherwise might have been dosed closed sed but to operate it up upon on a much higher standard than on which it had been conducted last summer the council very generously extended every help in its power and the committee working hard on the project is deeply appreciative of that cooperation dr H asa dewey city health officer deserves great credit for the manner in which he obtained obedience to sanitary and health rules the attendants tactfully but rigidly enforced all regulations ions and assisted in putting the pool in a sanitary condition there were very few accidents and a notable absence of trouble of any kind the smaller children were kept in the shallow section of the pool and there was n unnecessary running and playing the children responded splendidly to the supervision of the pool and learned valuable lessons in citizenship such as sanitation obedience to rules consideration of the rights of others the value of cleanliness and care of public property the committee in its report makes some worthwhile recommendations for improving the pool for another season which should have the backing of the council and people of the city hundreds of local people as well as those from other com muni ties in the county and many travelers from other states enjoyed the refreshing plunge in this natatorium which was operated at the amazingly low cost of about one and a half cents per person per swim from the opening date on june 19 to the close on september 5 there were nearly people took advantage of the pool for a plunge the marvelous thing about the pool is that no charge is ma made de for its use if the bathers have their own suits and towels |
