Show more Cigar-Makers for 'Frisco. New Yobk, February 4. The cigar-makers who left this city the 2d of January for San Francisco have not been idle since they reached the Pacific Slope. A letter received by President Strausser shows pretty clearly the condition of affairs among the cigar-makers cigar-makers in that city. "Manufacturers," says the communication, "who were most violent in their opposition to our movement are now apparently heart and soul with us." Since the beginning of the week,' when it became known that 103 men were needed, applications applica-tions have been pouring into the headquarters headquar-ters of the International Union. On Saturday Satur-day next a special train will start at 6 o'clock from the Grand Central depot with the second installment of cigar-makers for San Francisco. |
