The Post's Chilli-cothe Chilli-cothe (Ohio) special says: The citizens of Conoord township, in this county, are excited ex-cited over the discovery of silver. A. H. Fisher, of Indianapolis, has been on a visit to his father, Jacob Fisher, of Concord township, for two months. He spent many years at mining, and is very familiar with the details pertaining thereto. About one month ago he was taking a walk through the adjoining farms. He j discovered signs of silver. He found several specimens which he was certain were rich in silver. He sent specimens to Colonel Pedrick, of Emporia, Kansas, a mining expert. Pedrick pronounced pro-nounced the speoimens rich silver quartz, and telegraphed Fisher to procure a lease of the land. The lease has been made, and on the arrival of Pedrick a shaft will be sunk. The silver fever has risen to such a hight that land adjoining the leased land has advanced 100 per cent, in value. |
