Show A Fatal Railroad Accident. Yesterday morning a sad accident happened hap-pened on the Utah & Northern Railroad, by which one man was killed and several others were more or less injured. The disaster took place about twenty miles north of Eagle. Rock, Idaho, and was caused by a broken rail. The train was running along at the usual rate, and was made up of an engine, baggage man and smoking cars, a sleeper regular passenger coach, and a Pullman. Pull-man. Four of these, the Pullman, smoker, baggage and passenger, were all thrown from the track and fell a distance dis-tance of nine or ten feet down an embankment. em-bankment. At the time 5 o'clock a. in. the passengers were sleeping, and the sudden and rough manner in which they were awakened from their slumber and dreams caused considerable confusion t?nd frisrht. Among these were a gentleman and his wife, and two children, on their way to Denver, and three Chinamen en route for California. |
