By Mr. Page, from the Committee on Insane Asylum, H. F. No. 43, making appropriations, ap-propriations, recommending its passage. Filed for second reading. By Mr. Francis, from the Committee on Claims and-Public Accounts, relative to the bill of the Star Printing Company, saying that the bill, amounting to $82.50, was just, having accrued in printing the civil procedure bill for the session of 1884. Report adopted, and amount ordered included in-cluded in the general appropriation bill. By Mr. Grover, from the Judiciary Committee, reporting back C. F. By Mr. McLaughlin, from fifty taxpayers taxpay-ers in Kamas, Summit county, asking an appropriation of $3,000 to build roads and bridges in Provo canyon. Committee on Highways. 1 - . From the Judiciary Committee, recommending re-commending the passage of a substitute bill for II. F. No. 9, relating to the selection selec-tion and payment of jurors in Territorial cases. . This is the bill that the Governor vetoed, and the substitute is H. F. No. 47. H. F. No. 46, amending the charter of Alpine City, was introduced. H. F. No. 47. providing for the selection j and payment of jurors in Territorial cases. Read by title. H. F. No. 19, relating to the establishment establish-ment of a Territorial Reform School, came up on its third reading. The House was informed of the passage by the Council of H. F. No. 43, relating to the $20,000 deficiency appropriation to the Territorial Insane Asylum. The amendment made by the upper house was in correctly spelling the word "biennial," and it was concurred in ' by I the House. Adjourned until 10 o'clock this morning. January 16. C. F.. I The chairman presented a petition from the ladies of Mount Pleasant, asking ask-ing that some law be passed bv the present pres-ent Legislature restricting the sale of any intoxicating drinks within one mile of any school-house or church. Committee on Manufacture and Commerce. Mr. Rider presented a petition from 143 lades of Kane county, same as above. Same committee. Mr. Hanson presented a petition from the citizens of Grantsville, asking that an amendment be made to their city charter. Committee on Municipal Cor- I i porations and Towns. Mr. Rider presented a petition from Kane county, asking that the amount $1,000 which was appropriated to that county in 1882 for the purpose of fixing a highway, be allowed them for the purpose pur-pose of fixing Long Vallev canyon. Committee on Highways. The Committee on Municipal Corporations Corpor-ations and Towns reported back H F No.15, a bill to amend th Richfield, with amendments, and recommended recom-mended its passage. The Committee on Enrollment report that they have forwarded II. F. No. 43 a bill providing for appropriations for the Territorial Insane Asylum, to His Excellency" Excel-lency" Eli H. Murray, for his approval. The Committee on Highways reported back the petition from Tooele county, and recommended that $1,200 be appropriated for the. purpose of fixing roads in that county, providing that the county also furnish- $200 for the same, purpose. Committee Com-mittee on Appropriations. - ' ! Also, the petition from Millard county and recommend that $700 be appropriated appropri-ated for the purpose of fixing roads. Same committee. . - The Committee on Public Health reported re-ported back C. F. No. 16,and recommended recom-mended its passage. H. F. No. 29, a bill regulating the branding, herding and care of stock, and punishing certain offenses against the same, as special order, was taken up on its third reading. |
