Show The Cry for Home ltule. Dublin, February 16. The corporation of Dublin to-day adopted resolutions demanding demand-ing home rule for Ireland, and expressing reliance on Mr. Gladstone's promises and ability to secure it. Mr. Michael Davitt supported the resolutions, resolu-tions, and said there were good grounds for the hope that Gladstone would settle the home rule qaestion as he settled the Church question in Ireland. Continuing, Mr. Davitt stated Mr. Paoll was right in trying to obtain hom rul first, although he (Mr. Davitt) wo ;ld prtfer to see the Irish land question settlec' concurrently, on the basis of the present valuation of its produce. Mr. Davitt appealed to the Protestants of Ireland to co-operate with the Parnellites. |
