' He was an active member of the J Jaycees, Rotary and the Chamber ' of. Commerce. ; I 'He was a member of the Kays vil-le?th vil-le?th LDS Ward and had served as iEkplorer advisor, home teacher Hand secretary of the High Priest Quorum. K He had served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a flight engineer. , He owned and operated Hy , Smith's Inc. in Kaysville and Layton. He was an avid golfer. . ' Surviving are his widow of Kaysville, one son and one daugh-. daugh-. tejr, Gerald E. Smith, Layton; Mrs. Jaick (Karen) Lowe, Centerville; arid four grandchildren. ; .Services were held March 7 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary with Bishop Meldon Ward of the Kaysville 8th Ward officiating. - Family prayer was given by Gerald E.
