Show GOVERNOR HILL of NewYork has just signed a medical registration bill which from an analysis of its provisions appears to be even more severe than the one vetoed ve-toed by Governor Bodwell The New York bill not only requires that all prac ticing physicians shall be licensed but restricts admission to the practice of medicine med-icine to graduates of medical schools in good standing The penalties of violating the law are fines or imprisonment or both The Maine bill was more liberal than the New York bill in that it proposed pro-posed to allow persons not graduates to practice on condition of passing an examination exam-ination in matters pertaining to medicine and surgery |
