Show Vigilance Needed for PlcuroPncu moiiia SPRINGFIELD Ill May 12A communication commu-nication has been received in this city from the State Veterinarian of Missouri Mis-souri from which the following extract ex-tract is taken Dr Paul Paquin D V S author of the circular has given the matter of pleuropneuinonia considerable study and as State Veterinarian of Missouri Mis-souri has had abundant facilities for a practical investigation of this much dreaded lung plague He says however we must not think that there is no danger dan-ger I do not say that the disease is stamped out The vigilance of the people peo-ple must continue and though the disease appear to be extirpated we shouid bear in mind that it may break out later as it is reported to have happened in Illinois a few weeks since after having been dormant dor-mant for most seven months One I single animal left with contagious pleuro pneumonia might spread it over all the State I |
