Show CROPS The Weekly Summary of the Farmers Review and the Signal Service Report The Approaching Civilization or nu Apache Chief by a Mexican Firinj Tarty The Sau Carlos Apaches on the WarPath War-Path Again They Murder a Cattle Herder Crop Report CHICAOO June GTho following crop snmmarv will appear in this weeks issue of the Farmers Review Continued rains throughout many portions of the west since our last issue have wrought general improvement in conditions especially in that of spring crops and meadows I mead-ows and pastures Harvest has already commenced in southern winter wheat sections sec-tions and this crop is nearly Pst all danger dan-ger Our reports on its conditions areas are-as follows Eighteen counties in Illinois roport average condition of 87 per cent ten counties report injury from drouth and insects in-sects Seventeen counties in Indiana report I average condition of 85 percent five countief report injury by insects Fifteen counties sin s-in Ohio report an average condition of 1G per cent and some damage by insects Nino Michigan counties report an average condition condi-tion of 89 per cent with some injury from drouth and none from insects Seventeen Missouri counties give an aver ago condition of DC per cent and ten conn ties in Kentucky report an average condi tion of 87 per cent Kansas falls away behind nino counties giving only an aver ago condition of 53 per cent Elk county reports All plowed up Lincoln is a total failure and Phillips is very poor There is a very general complaint ofinsects doing injury Fonrlowa counties report an average condition of 97 per cent and ten counties in Wisconsin give an average condition con-dition of 76 per cent The condition spring wheat is reported as follows Nine counties coun-ties place the condition at 90 per cent with some complaint of injury by drouth and insects in-sects In eight counties in Minnesota the condition is 83 per cent For eleven counties coun-ties in Dakota it is 99 per cent In twelve in Nebraska it is 87 per cent and in fourteen four-teen in Iowa it is 93 per cent The corn States report an acreage and condition above the average with a few exceptions Oats show an average acreage and condition con-dition Meadows and pastures as a rule are I reported short from lack of rain earlier in tho season but are now on tho gain Potatoes Pota-toes and fruit promise fair crops as a rule |
