| Show i Chuck Full Of Sports Y Rise and Shine Chucky I I By Charles Barnard Sports Editor Co-Editor I I Oh boy am I wide awake I have written two Chuck Full of Sports in which I wrote about how boring the basketball playoffs have been this year During the first few weeks of the playoffs this was very much the case I just could not watch those games because they put me to sleep I also wrote about how I wished I felt excitement during the Jazz games Thank heavens my wishes have been answered In these past few weeks I have watched some of the most exciting basketball in my life Can anyone say Eddie Johnson How about Michael Jordan And of course there was John Stockton and the shot heard around the world or at least around the Salt Lake Valley a half a million times You could not ask for better basketball That is one of the things that makes basketball such a great game There is three seconds left on the clock and the teams are tied You know that those few seconds will be the most exciting of the whole game You see the team pass in the ball make another pass and see the ball end up in the hands of Eddie Johnson or Michael Jordan You then see a shot go up with the clock running out and the ball going through VV V the hoop Now if you are a Jazz fan you cringe but as a basketball fan it is I k so much fun to watch It is even better when you see a wide open John Stockton get the ball with time running out A few seconds later you see John jump high into the theair theair theair air and his team running ruining out to congratulate congratulate congratulate con con- him Now that is fun I wanted wanted wanted want want- ed some excitement in the Jazz games Well I finally have it One thing is sure for these games have not been pretty At times they look more like something out of the than the But so what These games have been fun to watch Most games have been going back and forth and are arc not over until the buzzer sounds In fact they should change the name of the to the National Heart Attack Association They need to do this because that is what these games have been giving fans heart attacks And that is what makes it so much fun Fun That is what was missing in inthe inthe inthe the first two rounds of the playoffs Itis It Itis Itis is nice to have some games that are fun to watch and to yell at Of course it does help that it is June and the Jazz are still playing As the Finals move into Game 2 21 I wish the Jazz luck But I also hope that the games will continue to have the excitement that these last few have had Now if only the Stanley Cup games were this much fun to watch What ever happened to the Avalanche anyway |
