Show bureau analyzes farm production price P r i c e situation farmers may expect a slight decline in the general price level during the coming season a report issued this week from the bureau of agricultural economics states effects of the federal surplus Comi Com rodt cs corpo corporations a work will be felt however and price will probably be beneficially fici ally affected by its activities the report pointed out analyzing the dairy situation the bureau indicated that though prices will be decidedly lower than a year ago activities of thel the governmental surplus commodities commodity es I 1 corporation would help to maintain I a fair price the r relationship e lation between butterfat butt arfat and feed prices is almost as good as for the period from 1925 to 19 1929 it was pointed out prices of lower grade beef cat alo are arc expected to remain near I 1 the present level during most of 1 I 1 the spring but some weakness in in I 1 the prices of better grade animals animal wl may be anticipated the bureaus bureau report said numbers of cattle catte on feed in the corn belt on april I 1 were approximately 20 per cent greater than on the same date in 1937 and have appier apparently been appreciably delayed by i large supplies of fairly cheap feeds favorable conditions for development of new crop lambs should result in larger slaughters of sheep in in may and june than a year ago it was pointed out the early spring lamb crop too is at least 15 per cent larger this year than in 1937 and decreases in of texas animals will hardly compensate for the surplus prices for the new crop lambs wiil will probably continue considerably sider ably lower than a year ago |
