Show Yikinng Views By RAUNA CROWLEY I have some pretty exciting news to announce this week. As you may or may not know, we have just had our student body elections and have the new officers elected for next year. The officers will be as follows: student body president, Kevin Moon; student body vice president, Troy Olsen: student body secretary. Jennifer Larsen. CONGRATULATIONS to you all. 1 hope that those of you who didn't make it are considering applying ap-plying for an appointed office (you never know, you could be writing this article next year). We now have class elections on top of us. The schedule goes as follows: May I. petitions due by noon. Primary elections begin at J 2. May 7. class primary assemblies, assemb-lies, juniors in the auditorium, sophomores in the gym. Schedule to be announced. Class elections. May 8, class final campaigns. May 9. Class final elections. New officers offic-ers to be announced at the beach party. OUR VYKELLES are putting on their biggest concert of the year May 3-6. They will be performing jazz, contemporary, abstract, military, and modern dances. This concert will be held in the auditorium auditor-ium at 7 p.m. Our Vykelles have had an excellent year. They have won many honors and awards and have represented Viewmont High very well. They have put a lot of time into this concert and I am sure this w ill be one you will not want to miss. Our soccer team has a few games coming up this week. On Friday, May 2. they play Woods Cross at Woods Cross. On Tuesday, May 6, they play East on our own field at 3:30. Then, on Friday, May 9. they take on Highland at Highland. Good luck! OUR BASEBALL team also has a few games coming up. First, on May 2, they host a game against Davis at 4. On May 6. Tuesday, they play Davis. And on Friday. May 9. they play against Highland at Highland. Our team has done a great job this year. Keep up the good work guys. Battle of the Bands will be held May 2 in the auditorium during school. Many hours of time have been put into this assembly so I would like to encourage you all to attend. MAY 9 brings with it the Beach Party. All students will want to make sure they attend. It will be held on the football field and we will have booths, food, tee-shirts for the first 100 people, a movie, the announcement of the class officers, and much, much more. Come join the fun. |
