Show Food Talk Receipes & Chatter by Fern Thomas Now comes the time for salads and sandwiches and here's a "Lucky Seven Sandwich" to tempt the palate, (if that's possible this hot weather). Let's try it, shall we? Begin your "Lucky Seven" by cooking a meaty hen a day in advance, or use canned chicken or turkey meat. Both dark and white meat may be used for the sandwich. Slice bread (whole wheat, nut, white or rye). Mount tier's of food on 2 bread slices placed flat on the prate about 1 inch apart. Top each bread slice with slice of cheese. Place a leaf or cup of lettuce on next; then, the slices of tomato; and lastly, the strips of chicken meat. For Garnish you'll want 2 slices of hard cooked egg. Two slices of bacon will border the sandwich. Pickles and olives are "naturals" as accompaniments. Thousand island dressing may be either sprinkled on the "sandwiches "sand-wiches de luxe" or served at the side. Hope you enjoy It! I 1 cup pineapple juice 1 cup bottled raspberry syrup 3 cups strong hot tea 1 qt. chilled sparkling water Block of ice Boil sugar and water 5 min. Combine with orange, lemon and pineapple juices, syrup and tea. Chill thoroughly. Just before serving add sparkling water. Place in punch bowl with block of ice. Serve with sandwich loaf.
