Show MID SUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM? Mid-summer night's dream ? Ah, no! Not on the streets of the Sugar House-Southeast area. Mid-Summer Mid-Summer Night's Mare would be more like it. And why? Mostly because nobody, but nobody, no-body, pays any attention to "Traffic "Traf-fic Rules and Regulations. Article Nine, Section 172, MUFFLER." It reads: "Every motor vehicle (self-propelled, but not operated on rails) shall at all times be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in CONSTANT OPERATION to prevent excessive or unusual noise and annoying smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cutout, by-pass or similar sim-ilar device upon a motor vehicle on a highway. Said muffler shall be at least as effective in the reduction re-duction of the exhaust noises of the vehicle motor as the type of muffler furnished by the manufacturer manu-facturer of said vehicle as standard stand-ard equipment for purposes of the first sale at retail of vehicles of the same class." Come on, Chief Skousen, and the boys . on wheels in the Sugar House-Southeast area, how about tightening up on enforcement of the most flagrantly abused traffic rule on the books. |
