Show Street Projects Slated By C. of C. And City Officials Street plans for Sugar House area were discussed Tuesday morning morn-ing by the Roads and Traffic committee of the Chamber of Commerce, and City Engineer Roy McLecse, and traffic engineer, James Challis. Projects under discussion were, Seventh East project; improvement improve-ment of 9th East; building of a through street at about 22nd So. between Highland Drive and 9th East; widening of Highland Dr.; and completion of 17th East across Parley's ravine. Actions of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce on the 7th East project will be taken at the next board meeting Aug. 7. Mr. McLeese reported work was underway on completion of 17th East across the ravine and it would be passable for traffic in the late fall. Progress was reported on widening wid-ening Highland Dr., improvement of 9th East and building the road paralleling the D & RG tracks. It was urged at the meeting that closer cooperation be brought about on traffic problems among , all parties concerned, State Road Commission; City and County Street Dept.; . Chamber of Commerce Com-merce and the citizenry. V. W. Mackay, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Roads and Traffic committee, conducted the meeting at which both, board members and . committee members mem-bers were present. |
