Wintrobe, head of the department of internal intern-al medicine at the University of Utah Medical school, will address scientists from 11 western states at the first annual Margaret Beatie Lecture to be held in San Francisco Fran-cisco Jan. 29. A nationally known authority on blood diseases, Dr. Wintrobe will discuss "Newer Concepts of Hematology as a Guide to Clinical Clini-cal Laboratories." The Januray meeting is the first in a series of yearly open scientific lectures by outstanding scientists. At the University of Utah, Dr. Wintrobe is also director of the laboratory for study of hereditary and metabolis disorders. He is also consultant to the Atomic Energy Commission, Veterans Administration Administra-tion and Surgeon General, U. S. Army.
