Show HAVAJOS' WAR 11 DANCE FOR RIVER JOB j The Navajo Indian tribe is showing show-ing the way for other people of the western states in their support of the Colorado River Storage project proj-ect This was the opinion of Calvin W. Snyder, chairman of Upper Colorado River Grass Roots, Inc., an organization of citizens from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming pressing for support of the project. He pointed to Navajo support in contributing $10,000 to the Grass Roots organisation. Also, he said, the Navajos staged a war dance to dramatize their support of the project. The war dance was at Window Rock, Ariz., and was the first such event since the Indians were on the war path in the 1850s. |
