And what's more there is no end of activity going on that means everybody is hep with the fever of blossoms and bees. F'r instance . . . there's Dick Smoot who has given a diamond ring to the lovely Barbara McKean. Dick is a son of the I. A. Smoots while Barbara's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Franklin L. McKean. Romance has been matrimony-bound since last week end when the engagement took place. Wedding bells will ring before you know it. Baby makes three . . . three children for the Mr. and Mrs. Lester F. Hcwlelts, 1216 Kensington Ave. The darling daughter is nameless as yet but you can bet they'll choose a sweet one to go aloii-- with Nancy and Lin who are waiting for their new sister to come home. The infant was born at the Holy Cross Hospital Tuesday night and she came to this world with a mop of black, curly hair and weighing six pounds, three ounces. Mrs. Hewlett Ois the former Peggy Brazier. Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Hewlett and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Brazier are the grandparents. Looking for the good word that Mrs. L. Roland Bain is "doing the "town" once more. She recently underwent an operation but is doing very nicely, thank you. Another southeasterner who is just about completely well after minor surgical operation is Mrs. Hamer Culp Jr., 1733 So. 15th East St. Mrs. Culp is the former Jody Billings. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Ashton "have returned from a two week's business-pleasure trip. They packed their dress duds and play clothes and took in the signts of California. Barbara Caine and Beth West, who recently moved out on 13th East St., were co-chairmen with Emma Lou Warner of 1887 East Crystal Ave., and Mrs. Grant Midgley (of the Seagull Drugs MWgleys) as willing and able helpers.
