Show SeaguS! Drug Company Announces Renovation Program Complete Grand opening ceremonies were set for 6 p.m. Friday by Joseph S. Peery and Grant Midgley, co-owners of the Seagull Drug Co., be expanded to the south of the present lot in the southeast corner cor-ner of the market square. which for the past three weeks has undergone a $20,000 renovation-expansion program. Floor space of the original store has been increased approximately ap-proximately 200 per cent with the addition of space formerly occupied by O. P. Skaggs. The new store is divided into two parts: the east section houses the self-service department; the west end is under the direction of store personnel. Between the two is a check stand. At the east end of the self service section the prescription department depart-ment is located. It is under the supervision of Charles M. Hirsch. Floor space covers an area of 138 feet by 40 feet plus stock room space. This totals some 56,000 square feet as compared com-pared to the present 18,000. One of the main features of the building is its lighting. Slim-t Slim-t y p e fluorescent fixtures throughout the store will afford af-ford a maximum of light for customers. Seventy foot candles of light will illumine the store. (Average store lighting: 15 foot : candles.) The store is completely com-pletely painted in pastel shades in addition. New modernistic flooring is laid throughout the store. Both men and women will have separate departments for their personal drug needs. A complete camera department has been set up. An expanded cosmetic bar, a greatly enlarged enlarg-ed baby department, a new 12 foot cooler installed and the magazine and candy departments depart-ments have been increased.
