Show Rotary Hears Zoning Expert At its weekly luncheon Thursday Thurs-day at Weasku Inn, Sugar House Rotarians heard George H. Smeath, director of the Ogden City - Weber county planning commission speak on the needs of master planning in Sugar House. Much of the present-day confusion in property values in this area may be laid directly to poor or inadequate planning, said Mr. Smeath. He pointed out the helter-skelter pattern of business and residential areas as examples. Mr. Smeath was introduced in-troduced to the group by Otto Buehner. In a short talk on the possibilities possi-bilities of -making- the southeast south-east one of the cultural centers of the west, Horace . Sorensen, told of the proposed gift of Mrs. Winifred Hudnut, widow of the late Utah-born perfume manufacturing manu-facturing millionaire. Mrs. Hud nut has offered her collection of art treasures to the people of Utah, if they will construct a suitable building for them. Mr. Sorensen explained the efficacy of using the state prison site in Sugar Hosue for that purpose. |
