Show Teams Advance in M-Men Basketball By Lowell Patton In the Sugar House Stake, Marlborough looks from here as the team to beat. Becoming stronger as the weeks progress, Marlborough have been molded into a champion team under the able coaching of Phil Baker. Having yet to play Emerson and Hawthorne it looks as though first place will be a slide-in for the first round of play. Richards and Bryan will have fairly easy contests this Thursday Thurs-day when they play Sugar House md Emerson respectively. December De-cember 12, the last week of this first-half will see Richards and Bryan pitted against each other. This game will probably decide the second place team in the league. Yours truly picks Bryan to win by a 6 to 8 point margin. This stand is made by observation observa-tion of both teams of the pre-ceeding pre-ceeding weeks. With their power, that quintet, can be almost assured of keeping that nerth. Also, with the aid of good material and the inspiratinal guidance of then-coach, then-coach, we can readily understand why their position is so. Parleys with a large group of players could be the deciding factor and perhaps the leading team at the finish of league play. The team is still somewhat stunned over the defeat given to them by Highland Park, but there is little doubt that their next contest will be a fight of revenge. Imperial and Stratford seem to be evenly matched and their coming game should be exciting and will be anxiously awaited. Park Avenue has yet to break into the winning column. Holding Hold-ing the strong Highland Park crew to an overtime period gives us reason to believe that the Park Avenue five will come up with an upset and soon.
