Show Westminster Rites Set Sunday Twenty-five college .and high 'school graduates of Westminster Westmin-ster College will be honored at annual commencement e x e r-jcises r-jcises starting tonight with pre-commencement pre-commencement campus activities, activ-ities, and closing Sunday evening. eve-ning. The baccalaureate services will be held Sunday. June 10. at ill a.m.. at the First Presbyterian ichurch with Westminster's president. pres-ident. Dr. Robert D. Steele, delivering de-livering the baccaulaureate ser-imon. ser-imon. Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the same place graduates ( will hear the commencement ad-: dress given by the Very Rev. Herald G. Gardner, dean of St.; Mark's Episocopal cathedral. . From these services the graduates grad-uates will adjourn to the home of Dr. Steele, 1733 Thirteenth! East street, where they will be. honored at the annual presi-! 'dent's reception. Pre-commencement activities ( starting tonight will include the traditional illumination and sing, starting at 9 p.m. "In this event the graduates, carrying lanterns, visit the various buildings build-ings on the campus and make their farewell addreses. following follow-ing which they gather at a great bonfire and consign to the flames the notebooks of the courses which they least enjoyed enjoy-ed during their Westminster sojourn. so-journ. Saturday evening the annual farewell banquet will be held at Memorial House in Memory Grove, starting at 6:30 p.m.. and at 9:30 that evening and at the same place they will enjoy their farewell dance. |
