Show Liibbie Edward School News have drawn the pencil drawing and are starting the painting. Georgia Joan Kenney, Fifth Grade, Mr. Rose's room, Room 1G5. OUR EXPERIMENTS Today our class did some experiments. ex-periments. We tested vegetables, peanuts, lard and fruits for fat. We took t;he food and put it on a blotter and if it made a grease spot it had fat in it. We tested fruits and vegetables for starch too. We put iodine on the food and if the food went olack it had starch in it. AJice Arbuckle, Fourth Grade. TRIP TO THE CAPITOL Our room went to the Capitol last Tuesday. We went into the Gold Room and saw the furniture furni-ture and walls decorated in gold leaf, taken from Utah gold mines. The marble decorations in the room were quaried from Spanish Span-ish Fork Canyon. We also visited the vault in the Secretary of State's office. Mr. Bennion showed us the great seal of Utah and printed one for us to see. We went to the House of Representatives Rep-resentatives and saw how laws were passed. While we were there, they introduced us and everyone downstairs appauded when we stood up. Later we saw the Britticana Art Exhibit, Ab Jenkins' racing car and other exhibitions in the Capitol. On our way home we visited Temple Square and heard the organ recital. Bonnie Rae Jackson. Third Grade, Room 189, ROOM LIBRARY In our room we have a library in which there are many interesting in-teresting books. The students who are in charge of the library are: Jack Jones, Bruce Hale, Kendall White, and Ronald Cun-dick. Cun-dick. We are also making a murral. We are drawing some of the famous inventois. We |
