Show Local Red Cross Drive a Success Following week of intensive work bycommittee members.the local Red Cross campaign was practically completed Thursday morning, according to Sugar House chairman S. Morgan Sorensen. Only a few business places which were missed in the first canvass remain to be contacted. con-tacted. "The response of the local businesses has been really gratifying," grati-fying," Mr. Sorensen stated, "and although exact figures will not be known until next week. Sugar House seems sure of exceeding ex-ceeding its quota." He expressed thanks to committee com-mittee members for their diligent dili-gent work and to the business places for their fine cooperation. "Give in 1949 what you gave in 1948" is the slogan of the campaign, by which it is hoped to raise the same amount this year as was raised last. At that time $123,000 of Utah's quota of $130,000 was raised. By rigid economics, the budget for 1949 has been pared to about that of 1948 in spite of increased costs of supplies and services. The donations to the jRed Cross should be made through the local fund committee or be mailed to American Red Cross, Beason Building, Salt Lake City, where they will be credited to the local fund raising group. |
