Show I Bonds for Christmas It is estimated by the Treasury Treas-ury Department, based on pa?t performance, that over 1,000,000 people will receive bonds for Christmas, and 5000 firms will give their employes "the present pres-ent with a future," as their Christmas and year-end bonds. "To encourage the use of bonds as Christmas, gifts, the Treasury Department has prepared pre-pared a special gift jacket. The scene on the jacket is from the painting 'Pleasant Valley' by Carl Lawless, a prized possession pos-session of the Grand Central Galleries of New York City," stated Mr. Charles L. Smith, state savings bond chairman. The jacket will be available at all banks and bond issuing post offices. Actual sales figures for November No-vember are not yet available from the Federal Reserve Bank, but preliminary reports indicate indi-cate that Utah is following the upward trend in the nation ui the increased purchases of "t' ' bonds by individuals. |
