By the time we finish an edition each week we have honest hon-est doubts that anyone would want to read the paper. Among our recent comments of appreciation appre-ciation was the one made by Mrs. Thomas J. Lund of 3021 So. 23rd East, who said she'd read only one copy, but enjoyed enjoy-ed it so much she immediately subscribed. The next one came from our good friend, "Al" Swift of 910 Simpson Ave., who said he and his wife read every page each week. Our production produc-tion manager, LaMar Busath (all right, maybe he is a little biased), said that his neighbor on Logan Ave., "Grandma" Wilson Wil-son thought that the local news in he Bulletin was very refreshing re-freshing after so much war-scare war-scare news in the dailies and over the radio. t People and I Progress By Jim Cannon WE THOUGHT WE WERE BUSY last week, but we have unhappily learned that a heavy schedule can get heavier. It certainly did this week. It was a real debut for our new Whit-lock Whit-lock press, and it was nothing less than a three-color run which was used to break it in. Veterans of the printing game shook their heads when we mentioned men-tioned that our first run was in color, but they pitched right in to make the results worthwhile. The approaching Labor Day I holiday and the primary elections elec-tions on Tuesday seemed to add to the burden. Our problems didn't seem quite so large, however, how-ever, after we talked to Alvin Keddington, the county clerk and learned about the job fac- ing him next Tuesday to keep the polls running smoothly. "MEN OF- DISTINCTION" (from the Christian Science .Monitor): Still another untouched un-touched portrait this time with a feminine partner which will not call forth many bids from those who design the whisky |
