Show Board Of Health Report Local health officers reported a total of 457 cases of communicable communi-cable diseases to the Utah Utate Department of Health for the week ending November 13. This is an increase of approximately 100 cases over the total reported for the previous week. For the corresponding period one year ago. 341 cases were reported. Measles appeared to be spreading spread-ing over a greater area throughout through-out the State the total for the week was 264 cases as compared with 191 for the previous week and 23 for the corresponding period per-iod in 1941. The number of cases of mumps and chickenpox also shows a slight increase over the previous Two cases of diphtheria were reported from Salt Lake City. Only 4 cases of tiiis disease have been reported in the State during dur-ing 1942. Beaver County reported a case of typhoid fever the patient is a women 24 years of age. Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Coun ty. and Box Elder County each reported one case of poliomyel-tis. poliomyel-tis. The respective ages of the patients were 4, 6, and 9 years of age. Other diseases reported were as follows: chickepox 56, in-flunza in-flunza 1, German measles 12, mumps 71, pneumonia 8, scrrlet fever 11, tuberculosis4, whooping cough 7, gonorrhea 5, and syphilis syph-ilis 12. |
