Show WAR MANPOWER COMMISSION Joseph S. Meyer, State Manpower Man-power Director, for Utah, today announced that all offices of the United States Employment Service Ser-vice have been advised to tighten adminstration of the MMC re-quirements re-quirements for evidence of availability avail-ability as a prerequisite to the employment of any worker who has moved into an eara. This action is necessary he ex-plained, ex-plained, to help fill urgent manpower man-power requirements in war plants producing "must" items for the armed forces and retain needed workers in other essential establishment estab-lishment on a nation-wide basis. He suggested that any worker, in order to prevent possible dellay or difficulty in securing new em-ployment, em-ployment, consult the USES office of-fice nerrest to him before going to another area. The local USES office, he pointed out, can inform him about job openings in the area and provide him, if he is eligible eli-gible with statement of avaaila-bility avaaila-bility that he must have in order to be referred for employment in the area to which he is moving. Failure to have the evidence of availability from his last employer employ-er or USES, Mr. Mayer, emphasized, empha-sized, makes him ineligible for a referral. Under WMC's employment employ-ment stabilization program, he added, no worker may be hired for' any job in the area to which he has moved unless he has been given a referral by USES in that area, the worker can avoid a loss of time in getting a referral referr-al to employment openings in the new area. "With the tempo of war quickening quick-ening on all fronts," Mr Mayer said, "It is increasingly important impor-tant that there be a let-down In the production of the tools of war that our forces and those of our Allies must have. We are slrort of workers in many vital war industries. in-dustries. Each community must do its share in furnishing necessary neces-sary workers for these plants, regardless re-gardless of where the plants are located. If you are unemployed ,of engaged in less essential work, the nearest USES office can provide pro-vide you with information and refer you to important war jobs in your community or in another area." Butchering of Deer Meat Butchers must not charge more than their fall of 1941 price for custom butchering of deer meat, the OPA announces. Butchers are permitted to charge a slight percentage per-centage increase to cover increase operating costs, but this increase is based on their 1941 price.
