To provide an outlet for the activities of the Boy Scout Press club the Sugar House Bulletin has set aside a Scout Page for the reporting of the troop, district and council happenings. hap-penings. The club organization has been ready and "raren to go" for some time and has succeeded in publishing scattered scat-tered news articles in various papers. But without this page the actual experience of editing, reporting, proof-reading, etc., has been denied the members of the club. Recently Tom Lyon, Victor Jensen, Phil Snelgrove and Robert Cutler were appointed to act as editors. Don Russell, Ralph Romney and Ralph Merkely are among the reporters who will help in the work. Troops and districts are invited to send their news to the press club through their representatives or to Scout Headquarters Head-quarters or direct to the Bulletin office, where it will be picked up and edited for the page. Earl Allen, scout supervisor; su-pervisor; V. F. Victor, instructor of journalism at South high school ; Jack Anderson of the Tribune ; Homer P. Anderson Ander-son of the Deseret News, and Fred E. Hamlin, Salt Lake Telegram, will help the scouts in compiling and editing the page. To make it possible for troops to receive regular council news, an organization price will be given by the Bulletin to troops. |
