Show LIBRARY BOOK CORNER NOTES SPRAGUE BRANCH Several new books have been added to the Library recently some of them new books and some of them older ones that have not been in the Library collection before. be-fore. Moby Dick by Melville is an old favorite story of the sea. The Battle of 1776 contains statements on the Lend-Lease Bill by the President and the Secretaries Secre-taries of State, War and Navy, with an introduction by Dorothy Thompson. We now have new copies of Re-' Re-' marque's "Road Back" and "All Quiet on the Western Front." In the reference department is a new book by Graham, "Famous Literary Prizes and Their Winners." Win-ners." There are two very valuable additions ad-ditions to the Utah collection Neff's History of Utah. Mr. Neff, before his recent ueaui, w the faculty of the University of Utah and of pioneer parentage. The other book comes in two volumes vol-umes called Heart Throbs of the West, and is a history of the pioneers. pio-neers. It is compiled by Kate Carter Car-ter and published by the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Utah Pioneers. Langston Hughes is a negro poet who has written his autobiography autobi-ography called Big Sea. Another important biography that at the present time is popular popu-lar and new is Wilson's biography of Harriett Beecher Stowe. Then there are: Night Over Europe. (Schu-man (Schu-man ) . The World's Greatest Short Stories (Ed. by Cody). Sweepstakes (Greenaway). The Deadline (Tuttle, Western West-ern ) . Trail Doctor (Williams). Ghosts on the Range Tonight To-night (Cameron, Western). East by Day (Blair Niles). How America Lives (Furnas). Invasion in the Snow (Lang-don-Davies). Lance Falls in Love (Hauch). The Blue Cloak (Bailey). Country Squire in the White House (Flynti). Lions in Trust (Scott). Another book important to those interested is Oxy-Acetylene Welding for Beginners. Be sure to see the plates showing show-ing the Pageant of the Pacific, murals by the Latin American artist. art-ist. Covarubbias. These six beautifully beau-tifully colored plates are being shown on the Bulletin Board in the main reading room. Only one plate can be shown at a time because be-cause of the size but those interested inter-ested may see them all at once by asking at the desk for them. They are borrowed from the main library and will be here for five weeks longer. . |
