Show V HEALTH REPORT Local health officers reported a total of 303 cases of communicable communicab-le diseases to the Division of Epidemiology, State Department of Health, for the week ending October 31, 1941. This is 14 cases fewer than were reported last week and 98 cases than were reported re-ported one year ago. Four new cases of poliomyelitis poliomyeli-tis (infqntile paralysis) were reported re-ported as follows: one case from Mt. Pleasant, San Pete County; 2 cases from Box Elder County; and one case from Salt Lake City. Since January 1, this year, a total of 35 case has been reported and for the same period one year ago a total of 48 cases was reported. One case of undulant fever was leported from Salt Lake County. The source of infection is listed as ''raw milk," One case of typhoid ty-phoid fever was also reported from Salt Lake County. A decrease of 76 cases in the number of chickenpox is noted; 151 were reported this week as compared with 227 for the previous pre-vious week. Four new cases of rheumatic fever were reported. Sixty-one cases of mumps wore reported this is an increase of 26 cases over those reported for the previous week. A total of 20 cases of whooping cough was reported which is double the number num-ber reported for the previous week. New cases of tuberculosis were reported from the following: Salt Lake County 1, Salt Lake City 2, Summit County 1, and Ogden City 1. Other diseases reported were as follows: influenza 4, measles 5, German measleslO, pneumonia 5, gonorrhea 19, and syphilis 15. |
