Show U. S. Marine Corps Needs Officers with Electrical and Radio Experience The United States Marine Corpb needs a large number of officcis with electrical background for duty in the supervision and maintenance main-tenance of radio aircraft warning warn-ing devices, allied radio pquip-ment pquip-ment and installations. A call to civilians between 20 and 40 years of age to apply for commissions in the Corps as been issued by the Commandant Lieutenant General Thomas Hol-comb. Hol-comb. Candidates for commissions should be able to fill one of the following: Hold a degree of Bachelor of Science of Electrical, Radio or Communication Engineering or Electronic Physics awarded D an accredited college, or: Hold a degree of Bachelor af Science in any engineering subject sub-ject and have had reasonable practical experience in radio or electrical work, or: Have successfully completed at least two years of electrical, radio or communication engineering engineer-ing subjects at a college, university univer-sity or commercial school of rec-onized rec-onized standing and have considerable consid-erable experience in one of those fields, or: Have the equivalent of any of the above by reason of extensive practical experience in the field of radio where the applicant' has been connected with the design, erection or maintenance of ultra high frequency radio transmitting transmitt-ing or reception. Men who are commissioned will be sent to an officer's school for three months for an indoctrination indoctrin-ation course in military tra ining. Anyone interested in applying for a commission in this specialized special-ized field who lives in the Western Wes-tern Division comprising the states of Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Mon-tana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming is advised to w.ite a letter to Lieutenant Colonel Raymond W. Conroy, Naval , Reserve Re-serve Aviation Base, Oakland Airport, Oakland, California, or The Commandant, U. S. Marine Corps, Headquarters, Washing-D. Washing-D. C. In this letter a statement of qualifications should be made, and information giving age, full name and complete address should be included. While applicants must meet other standard qualifications of the Marine Corps, certain waivers waiv-ers in physical condition may requested re-quested for men who are parti-cularlly parti-cularlly qualified for this work. |
