Show Bowling Last Tuesday's Ladies Forest League gave the Popular team a clean sweep of all high scores. Nancy Neslen led her team with a 212 game and 514 series, and the team chalked up 2087 for series ser-ies and 729 for high game. In the evening the Southside league finished its season with a business, meating where officers were elected for next year, and prize money, trophies, and medals were awarded. The team limit was raised to 920 making tnis league comparabile to ' the city Major in speed. After the meeting a once across tournament was enjoyed en-joyed by many of the league-members. league-members. Caldwell's C-Lect Market rolled rol-led the high scores in last week's Southeast league. The team had 2762 for high series, 998 for high game, and Bill Swan with 624 and Chick Lloyd with 242 were high individuals. Caldwell's took 4 points and replaced Holsum Bakers in second place in the league which is at present led by Birrell Bottling. Foto Art and Local 57 each won 4 points. Last Friday in the last night of play in the Lumbermen's league, Ka Inn took 4 points to oust Utah Pigeon Club from second sec-ond place. Pigeon Club lost 4 to the leading Granite Mill team. K's Inn had 2652 for high series, but Granite Mill with Fred Sandbergs 592 series and 222 game rolled 934 for high game. Play in the ladies Cardinal league was featured by Helen Wise's beautiful 254 game, the highest ever rolled by a lady in league play at the Southeast. Her 575 series was high for the evening and helped the Southeast Courts team to take Bowers Home Furnishings from first place in the league. Utah Drug- less Health Clinic, with a 2277 series and 808 game, and a 4 point win, moved to top spot. Nancy Neslen rolled a 213 game in a nice 527 series, while Virginia Virgin-ia Randall was not far behind with 512. The Bowers team is in fourth place in the state tournament, tourna-ment, and the Clinic team will roll on Sunday night. In the Sugar House Major Bob Woithen won the $2 worth ol" cleaning donated by the Fashion Cleaners for high individual game with a beautiful 257 game which is the highest ever bowled by Bob Nice going Bob. Roy Gilbert won 500 pounds of coal given by Su-ar Su-ar House Coal Company for high Individual series. Too bad the coal did not come a month earlier now that spring is here. Hugo Ensign set a new high series mark off 685 as his Granite Mill team won 4 points from Fashion Cleaners. Sugar Bowl having won 6 out of 8 this week and are now 10 points ahead and 16 left to play. |
