Saturday May 24,' it was announced by Royal Stone. k directod. The Camporee marks f the beginning of the summer camping season each year and is intended to strengthen and devel-ope devel-ope the ability of patrols to "rough-it" in good style. With the setting of the time of the affair an increase in activity activ-ity by patrols who plan to attend is noted. Inquiries are pouring into in-to scout headquarters and scoutmasters scout-masters are busy directing- the ping experience of the summer, pack frames and reflector ovens. Patrol meetings have taken on a new interest and efforts are centered on checking uniforms, menus, camp equipment, first aid kits, "gadgets," etc. Committeemen Committee-men are being called upon to furnish transportation, and asfist in other ways. The scouts are trying every source to help them "be prepared' for this inital cam-pingexperience cam-pingexperience of the summer. Patrol leaders should register at Scout Headquarters in the Atlas At-las Building before Monday May 19th. They are instructed to have camped out at least once with the patrol alone or with the troop to gain camping experience. The patrol should be fully organized with not less than five and not more than nine members all of second class rank or better. Equipment necessary includes a pack frame or havensack, a sleeping bag, uniform, and a tent for each two boys. Patrols should have a first aid kit, flint-and-steel set reflector oven. They will prepare pre-pare three meals and only fish and milk be in cans, and all bread must be baked, at the Camporee. Patrol rating will be on neatness promptness in serving meals and attending to other duties, use of gadgets, making fires with flint and steel, quality of equipment. Points will be based on a ques-tionaire ques-tionaire to be answered by patrol-leaders. Patrols getting an "A" rating are eligable to attend the Honor Hike to be held June 14. Inter-district camp-fires and programs will be staged Friday night, while games will be conducted con-ducted Saturday morning. Tying in with the national emergency program, games of signalling, first aid, firebuilding, waterboil-ing, waterboil-ing, transportation and tent-pitching will be featured.
