Show Legion Auxiliary Hear Address by Child Welfare Head In commemoration of Child Welfare Wel-fare Week, Mrs. C. A. Smith, chairman of the Child Welfare committee, on behalf of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 65, presented a collection of children's chil-dren's books to be used in the Children's Department of the Sprague Branch Library in Su-' gar House. In the absence of Mrs. Eleanor C. Bartlett, libraian, the gift was accepted by Miss Aurelia Bennion, who gave a brief talk on children's reading. Mrs. Frank D. Anderson, State Child Welfare chairman, addressed address-ed the meeting. Mrs. Harold S. Davis vice-president of the local auxiliary presided. "ilrs. M. A. Furgusson, president presi-dent of American Leagion Post, No. 65 has called a meeting of members to be held Thursday. May 8, at 8 p. m. in the Sprague Library. The purpose of the meeting meet-ing is to iniatate new members, also to nominate officers for the coming year. a |
