Show ! County Commission Chairman Lamont B. Gundersen told the irtmbers a plan is already under way to create a fire protection service area authorized by the-1957 the-1957 Utah Legislature. Mr. Gundersen also reported that about one mill tax may be necessary during the first year to provide for construction and equipment of new fire stations to be considered in the program. Chairman Duffin said that Olympus Ol-ympus Community Council is. aJ- j so, "vitally interested in an equitable equit-able solution to the problem cf gravel pits in our area." Eugene B. Duffin, chairman of; the nine man council, stated that! fire stations were needed at 39th' South and Wasatch Blvd., at 33rd South and 35th East, and 52nd So. and Highland Drive. Mr. Duffin added that these locations lo-cations were recommended as results re-sults of a survey which the public safety committee of the council conducted in cooperation withi j Lloyd Grames, field eng;neer for the Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific.
