Auxiliary Holds Fashion Show Mr. and Mrs. Adiel Stewart were guests at a luncheon of the j Ladies Auxiliary of the National! Guard given at the Country Club, Club, September 21. The third an-nual state convention of the offi-cers association are presenting the luncheon, with the hostesses be-ing the Ladies of the Guard in the Salt Lake area. A fashion show was presented by Castletons. The hair styles were by Darrell's Beauty Shops in Sugar House and the narra-tions were by Rolph Peterson. The models were the girls of the guard: Carol Workman, Gay Hick-so- n, Mimi Sorenson, Dorothy Neil-so- n, Lou Whitesides, Lois Harmon, Dorothy Backman, Donna Watts, Army Orlob, Shirley Archo. Susan Rich, daughter of General Rich; J June Peterson, Merilee Flint, Kim' Watts. A comic skit was present-ed by Doris Arice. I Mayor Adiel F. Stewart was special guest at the breakfast sponsored by the Mt. Olympus Business and Professional Women's group Fri- - morning and is shown with Mae Baird and Helen Johnson, officers of the club. Navy Mothers Club Holds Socials Mrs. Lew Cross, Commander of the Wasatch Navy Mothers Club No. 796, will be leaving soon for Pueblo, Colorado for the tri-sta- te rally that will be held Sept. 26, 27 and 28. Navy mothers from Utah, Wyoming, Colorado will at-tend the rally. Mrs. Cross will be accompanied by Mrs. Phoebe j Meyerhoffer. They will take aj complete layette that will be on display at the rally. The layette includes a beautiful jacket, bon-net and booties made of hair pin lace exclusively for the club by Grace Reese. i Navy Mothers Hold Socials The Wasatch Navy Mothers also observed the birthday anniversary of the founder of the club, Mrs. Emma Jones, recently. The group enjoyed the social at the home of Mrs. Marie Butcher, 1225 Major St. Following a program, refresh-ments were served. Club Friday morning at Stan's Tower House. Members from oth-er Salt Lake groups attended the breakfast and program. Utah clubs are currently parti-cipating in the national campaign to curb highway slaughter. An-other long range project, Miss Burt pointed out, has been the se-curing of equal rights for women in all states. Each local club honored its own working women and the 22 million women employed in the country. The active Sugar House Club is making plans for the state con-vention to be held in the spring. BPW Women Observe Week Sugar House Business and Pro-fessional Women's Club is among 27 Utah clubs to observe National Business and Professional Wom-en's Week, Sept. 22 to 28. In a statement to the South East Independent, Miss Burt, President of the Utah Federation said. "It is the purpose of the BPW to improve the woman for the busi-ness world and improve the busi-ness world for the women!" Members of the organization take an active interest in state and national legislation, national security, international relations, civilian defense and public safe-ty, Miss Burt said. A breakfast "for bosses" was sponsored by the Mt. Olympus Thompson Back Claude Thompson is back cut-ting carpets at Carpets, Inc., af-ter a wonderful trip by air to Saratoga Springs, New York City and points east. Mr. Thompson was the selected carpet dealer in the West to be invited to assist in the selection of colors in carpeting for the coming season. He flew home Saturday.
