Westminster Faculty Plans Recital The Westminster College De-partment of a Music will present faculty k cital in the Gunton Memorial Chapel, Converse Hall, Sun lay, at 3:30 p.m The recital will feature three mem-he- rs of the college music fac-ulty, Elizabeth Hayes Simpson, Prof. Harold W. Payne, and Prof. William R. Clarida. The public i invited. The recital will include works of J.S. Bach, Debussy, Charp-enaie- r, Prof. Clarida, H.T. Bur-lelg- h, Rudolph Hageman, and Paul Creston. On Friday the annual faculty banquet will be held in the eve-ning at the Panorama Inn. Saturday at 7 p.m. the annual banquet of Westminster Cabel-lero- es Chapter of Intercollege-ia-te Knights will be held in the Student Lounge on the campus. There will be presentation of a-wa- rds, and recently elected off-icers will be sworn In. Dr. F.E. Duddy, Jr., president of the col-lege will be the guest speaker. Dancing will follow the dinner. Officers to be sworn in include: Buckley E. Johnson, Socorro, N.M., honorable duke; Richard Wayne McLaughlin, Sinclair, Wyo., chancellor of the exche-quer; Don S. Follows, Salt Lake City, worthy scribe. Youth Symphony At Granite The first concert of the Granite Youth Symphony Orch-estra will be presented in, the Granite High School Audi-torium tonight at 8:15p.m. It is composed of 90 students who have been selected by audition from each of the ten secondary schools and from two of the elementary schools of the district. Barbara Bagley, Olympus High student, will be be piano soloist. Marvin Strong, music supervisor, will direct the orch-estra, Complementary tickets are available at the schools in the Granite District, the District Office, and at all music stores. College Ladies Hold Tea Westminster College's 55th annual Silver Tea was held yesterday. This tea, sponsored by the Women's Board was under the direction of Board President Mrs. Stewart Hansen, and Miss Hollister Handcock. Home-cooked-fo- od and apr- ons that varied in style from very simple to very frilly were . featured. Food was .under the direction of Mrs Harry Roberta and aprons were in the charge of Mrs Everet Muir. The money from the tea will go into the Women's Board Fund for their $1000 scholor-shi- p given every fall. Lady Lions Hear Talk About House Of Hope Mrs. E. Rushton was the speaker at the annual South-east Lady Lions meeting held Monday. Mrs. Rushton is the Director of the House of Hope, a rehab-ilatio- n center for women alcho-lic- s. It is located across from the Holy Cross Hospital. She pointed out that most of the people in her home come from jails, or; hospitals. She said about half of these women were cured enough to resume their lives and go on with, their jobs, whether it was being a mother or into the Business world. There is about 15 girls living in the home all the time but capacity, can be upped to about 20. , The girls are allowed to stay at the House of Hope for a cer-tain amount of time and can leave at any time, entrance Is purely voluntary.
